Whitening uses a bleaching agent to lighten natural teeth. It does not change the color of crowns, fillings or veneers. An examination helps identify the cause of discoloration and whether whitening is appropriate for you.

Will every tooth whiten the same way?
No. Results depend on the type of discoloration and your teeth. Existing restorations will not whiten like natural teeth.
Can whitening cause sensitivity?
Temporary tooth sensitivity can occur. Tell your dentist about existing sensitivity and discuss how it can be managed.
How much does in-office whitening cost?

Is whitening permanent?
No. Food, drinks, tobacco and time can affect tooth color. Your dentist can discuss maintenance.
Should I whiten before replacing a visible crown?
