What are full and partial dentures?
Full dentures replace all teeth in an arch. Partial dentures replace some missing teeth when other teeth remain. They are made to fit your mouth and help with everyday chewing, speaking and appearance.
Your questions, answered
Full and partial dentures FAQs
A few things to know before your visit.
Which type would I need?
The number and condition of your remaining teeth, your gums and your goals help guide the choice.
Will dentures feel different at first?
Yes. Getting used to eating and speaking with dentures can take practice. Follow your dentist’s guidance and attend adjustment visits.
How do I clean them?
Clean dentures daily with a suitable denture product and care for your gums and remaining teeth. Ask your dentist about overnight storage and removal.
What if they become loose or sore?
Contact the office for an assessment. Do not try to adjust or repair them yourself.
Will I still need dental checkups?
Yes. Your dentist checks the fit of your dentures and the health of your mouth.
